For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
—1 Corinthians 3:11
Proverbs 18:10 says, “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe.” The word “strong” means ‘mighty,’ or ‘stronghold.’ The word ‘tower’ means elevated stage used as a lookout-tower. When the words are used together, their meaning in our world would be ‘safe room.’ It was a place where people could go in a time of trouble, lock themselves in, and know they were safe from whatever the enemy threw at them. Jehovah-Sabaoth — “The Lord of Hosts, our Protector.” He is our ‘strong tower.’ There is none more mighty. And He protects his children.
As Romans 8:23 says, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” So it was with this in mind that I thought a Forest Fire Tower would be a good symbol for us. A high place for the purpose of protection. When we see it, we can say, “Jehovah-Sabaoth, you are my God and my strong tower.”
We have worship, games, food, a message, and prayer.
Our goal is to create an atmosphere where you can build relationships and surround yourself with other students with a heart to expand the Kingdom of God. Events include:
As Christians, we are called to spend time in the word. 2 Timothy 2:22 says “Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” Our shield of faith is made strong through spending time in the Holy Word. Below I have some short, 5-minute devotions. Join me in pursuing Christ through time in the Bible. Feel free to share in the comments what your questions are, or what you are learning.
Part 1 of an 8-part series presented by Oscar Sanchez on what it means to “Be In Christ.” In this devotion, we explore what it means to find your identity in Christ through His grace, rather than through your own accomplishments.
Part 2 of an 8-part series presented by Oscar Sanchez on what it means to “Be In Christ.” In this devotion, we seek to understand what it means to build a relationship with Christ.
Part 3 of an 8-part series presented by Oscar Sanchez on what it means to “Be In Christ.” In this devotion, we see how the Holy Spirit works to keep us out of sin, and directed to God’s work.
Part 4 of an 8-part series presented by Oscar Sanchez on what it means to “Be In Christ.” In this devotion, we look at how a focus on ourselves can distract us from something God has for us or wants to develop in us. Christ Alone is where we must put our focus.
Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;
Colossians 4:2
We have a team of dedicated prayer warriors who commit to serving the church body as intercessors to the throne, whenever a need arises. The members are vetted by the church to ensure integrity, respect, and compassion for those on whose behalf we pray.
If you have a prayer request for yourself or a loved one, you may contact Sandy McCrorie, our prayer chain coordinator, or submit your request below.
